The 2017 Turloughmore GAA club social and presentation night took place in the Claregalway hotel on Friday 13th January with close on 200 attendees  present on the night.

Club Chairman Tom Shiel opened the evening addressing the audience and welcoming all patrons, members, players and supporters of Turloughmore.

Fr. Gus O' Brien and Fr Des Walsh were joined by Hurling Board Chairman Michael Larkin, County Board Chairman, Frank Kearney, GAA Presidential Candidate Frank Burke, Galway Hurling Manager Michael Donoghue and Frank Fahy (Former Turloughmore Club Officer and Sponsor of the County U21 Cup) as special guests.

As ever, Sean Walsh  professionally conducted affairs as Master of Ceremonies on the night and the Claregalway Hotel served up an excellent meal which was followed by medal presentations to the Turloughmore Senior Hurling Shield 2015 winners, the Junior C Runners up team of 2016. Pride of place on the night went to our successful U21A Championship winners of 2016 who were also presented with their winners medals.

There was a real club and community atmosphere evident on the night and attendees were provided with excellent  entertainment by Comedian Frank Forde and local band "The Double Deckers" where the dancing went on into the early hours of the morning.

A special word of thanks must go to the organisers of this fantastic celebration which was definitely a great start to 2017 for both the club and the community. Thanks also to those who donated spot prizes on the night.
