Turloughmore and Liam Mellows ended level in the U21 A Final in Pearse Stadium on Saturday after an injury time Liam Mellows free was well converted by Ronan Elwood and saw the sides destined for a replay. Turloughmore led by 0-9 to 0-6 at the break after Liam Mellows had started well and built a 0-3 to 0-1 lead on 5 minutes. Points from Daniel Burke and Jamie Holland allied to Sean Linnane’s opener helped steady Turloughmore who had breeze advantage.

 

Damien Holland and Ronan Elwood swopped points on 24 minutes to leave the sides level on 0-5 each. Turloughmore then hit four of the next five points to build that 3 point interval lead as Jamie Holland, Sean Linnane, Barry Callanan & Richard Doyle all found the target.

 

A good start to the second half saw Richard Doyle, Jamie Holland, Sean Loftus and Shane Burke notch scores to build a 0-13 to 0-6 lead on 35 minutes. Mellows then hit the next 7 points to level the game on 51 minutes at 0-13 apiece, as Ronan Elwood (4), Enda Fallon (2) and Adrian Morrissey all scored.

 

Jamie Holland converted a free to put Turloughmore 0-15 to 0-14 ahead on 61 minutes, before Ronan Elwood did likewise two minutes later to ensure a replay.
