Craughwell 4-6

Turloughmore 3-6

Turloughmore lost out narrowly in the U12 A Semi final in Lackagh on Wednesday evening when a late Craughwell free ended up in the Turloughmore net to secure the win for Craughwell. In a game where the sides were level on 6 occasions, Craughwell started well but Turloughmore led by 2-2 to 2-1 at the interval.

Darragh Walsh shot the opening goal from a free and his second goal before half time left Turloughmore one up at the break.  One of the highlights of the opening half was a brilliant save by Turloughmore keeper Eamon McGrath. Tom Nolan and Matthew Tarpey, with a superb effort, shot points early in the second half to leave Turloughmore 2-4 to 2-3 ahead in a game that ebbed and flowed. Craughwell edged ahead again before two Darragh Walsh points had the sides level at 2-6 apiece.

A Craughwell goal 3 minutes from time seemed to put Craughwell on their way but Turloughmore responded and Darragh Walsh rifled the equalising goal to the net with a minute to go. But then a Craughwell free went all the way to the net and Craughwell qualified for the u12 A County Final.

Well done to the Turloughmore players and management. After the Semi final, the two clubs played a Panel challenge which was a most enjoyable game.
