Turlough 1-10 Gort 2-15 
Turlough lost out to Gort in their fifth minor group game at Kenny park last Friday.
In a game where luck or the referees favour didn’t seem to go their way, Turlough started out against the wind and fell into arrears by half time. Gort seemed that bit sharper and only a Sean Linnane goal, two Richard Doyle frees, along with a well worked Cillian Hurney score kept us in touch at the break. The halftime scoreline read 1-04 to 1-10.

Turlough fought back in the second half however with an early Brian Keane point. This was followed up by a couple of Doyle frees and a revival looked possible only for a Gort goal to maintain distance between the sides. Turlough only managed two Linnane points and a Doyle free in the closing stages as Gort defended in numbers. Fulltime score Turlough 1-10 Gort 2-15.

Nonetheless Turlough are still through but with their final group game against Liam Mellows imminent they will need to bounce back quickly.
