Turloughmore 2-14

Ballygar 2-11

A spirited comeback saw Turloughmore overcome unbeaten Ballygar in the U16 A Championship final round in Lackagh on Thursday. Ballygar, who had a perfect record from 6 played, showed their worth in the first half and with the aid of the breeze built a commanding 11 point lead – 2-11 to 0-6 – at the interval.

But a fiercely committed Turloughmore side, who were themselves depleted through injury, took the game to Ballygar in the second half and actually held them scoreless. Goals from Aaron O Shaughnessy and Matthew Lyons helped the home side who ran out three point winners after a fine second half display.
