Injury Concerns for Galway Hurlers

Galway hurlers’ injury list extended following last weekend’s club senior hurling championship matches. Even before a ball was thrown in, Joe Canning, David Burke and Turloughmore’s Fergal Moore were ruled out of their club’s games through injury. The round of championship games took its toll on the Michael Donohue’s squad as David Collins, Cyril Donnellan, Padraig Mannion and Turloughmore’s Matthew Keating were all forced off through injury in their respective matches. Goalkeeper James Skehill and Iarla Tannian also picked up knocks, but they are reported to be ok for this weekend’s games. Collins suffered a hamstring injury and will be out for a few weeks, while Donnellan broke his finger and is set to miss a similar amount of time. Mannion has an ankle ligament injury, while Turloughmore’s Keating suffered a broken ankle. Galway play the second placed team in the Leinster SHC round robin series in June.
