U-21's progress to Semi-final 18-04-2016

Turloughmore 4-17   Oranmore-Maree 1-6

Turloughmore overcame Oranmore-maree in the 3rd round of the U-21 Championship on Sunday. The game took place in Gort under ideal conditions for hurling.

Turloughmore started well and raced into an early lead in the first half with points from Conor Shaughnessy, Damian Holland and Richard Doyle to name a few. Two Brian Callanan goals meant Turloughmore had a comfortable lead going in at break.

Oranmore started well after the interval and threatened the goal in the opening minutes but Turloughmore regained their composure to see out the game. Goodscores in the half came from Damian Holland, Sean Linnane & Daniel Loftus.

Team: Mark Fahy, Ultan Hurney, Eoin Flaherty, Dara Joyce, Vincent Doyle, Jamie Holland, Daniel Burke, Sean Loftus, Shane Burke, Richard Doyle, Sean Linnane, Damian Holland, Brian Callanan, Conor Shaughnessy, Cillian Hurney.

The U-21 A Hurling Championship games that were to have been played this evening (Monday) between Sarsfields v Liam Mellows and Athenry v Cappataggle will not be played as the U21 Groups have been sorted following the Championship games over the past 2 weekends.

Loughrea, Turloughmore, Ardrahan and Liam Mellows have qualified for the Semi-finals as respective Group winners.

Draw for those semi-finals still to be made. Semi Finals will be played on Sat 14 May.
