SENIOR SHIELD VS CASTLEGAR

Turloughmore 0-13

Casltegar 0-8

Turloughmore faced on Castlegar at 11.00am this morning in what was Turlough’s first outing of the year. The game was the Senior Hurling Championship shield semi final from 2015.

The game was played in the Centre under tough conditions with a strong breeze favouring the home side in the opening half.

Good points from Darren Shaughnessy, Brian Murphy, and the pick of the bunch from Barry Mc Donagh helped put Turloughmore 0-11 to 0-3 points ahead going in at the break.

The second half was a tougher battle with Castlegar having the wind advantage. However a good free from Conor Shaughnessy and a Shane Burke point from a tight angle kept Castlegar at bay.

Barry Mc Donagh picked up a nasty injury in the opening minutes of the second half after which he had to leave the field. Cian Burke was introduced shortly after and made a noticeable impact, fielding two puck-outs in quick succession.

Best for Turloughmore were Matthew Keating, Kevin Hussey & Cian Burke.

Team: Paul Dullaghan, Darragh Joyce, Matthew Keating, Brian Holland, Ronan Shaughnessy, Jamie Holland, Kevin Hussey, Brian Murphy, Michael Morris, Barry Mc Donagh, Darren Shaughnessy, Sean Linnane, Conor Shaughnessy, Ronan Badger, Shane Burke.

Subs: Michael Casserly, Cian Burke, James Collins, Sean Collins, Gary Burke.
